Remembering Leo
Leo, our best little buddy, left us early on May 8th, 2025. Though he's left a gigantic hole in our hearts, we are comforted with the love and memories we had with him. We loved him, and he loved us back so hard.
Leo came into our lives at a time when we needed him most, and he quickly became an integral part of our family. Initially we were going to foster Leo, but as soon as we picked him up from the Cleveland APL, we instantly knew that he was the sweetest soul and we'd end up adopting him. It took a little while for Leo to come out of his shell as he had such a hard life up until this point, but once he did, his spunky personality shined, and we knew we were meant to be together.
Leo was more than just a dog; he was our loyal friend, our constant companion, our sidekick, our road trip buddy, and our source of unwavering love. One of our soulmates. We understood each other.
We had a million nicknames for him, each one a reflection of his unique personality. He was fiercely protective, incredibly affectionate seeking out someone that would pet him, and always by our side. He was so funny, and sassy, and always there to cheer us up. All he ever wanted was to be noticed and loved.
Our relationship with Leo was a simple yet profound one. He gave us unconditional love and companionship. We were his whole world. And we gave him a forever home filled with love and care. We knew that by adopting a senior dog, we were entering a relationship that would eventually end in loss. But Leo taught us to cherish every moment and live life to the fullest. Dogs are truly our greatest companions, and Leo was the best of the best.
The truth is, you always think you have more time with them. Give your pets an extra hug today.
We're so lucky he got to go on one last adventure with us to Memphis, like always. We will miss him as our copilot, but we know he will always be with us.
Love you, buddy. Forever. We will see you again one day.
